Teacher & Parent Guide

This guide supports teachers and parents in helping Stage 1 students explore the Great Pyramid of Giza. Students will investigate historical evidence, ask questions about Ancient Egypt and learn how historians use evidence to understand the past.

Learning Objectives

By completing this virtual fieldwork, students will practise observing historical evidence, asking questions about the past and explaining what historical sources can teach us about Ancient Egypt.

How can teachers use this website?

Teachers can guide students through the virtual tour, ask them to observe the Great Pyramid, and encourage them to develop questions about Ancient Egyptian history. Students can share their observations through drawings, discussions or short written responses.

How can parents support learning at home?

Parents can explore the website with their children, discuss the pictures and ask questions such as, “What can this pyramid tell us about people in the past?” Children can draw what they observe or explain their ideas aloud.

What will students learn?

Students will practise observing historical evidence, asking questions, developing timelines and explaining what historical sources can tell us about Ancient Egypt.
